We will meet on Saturday at our hotel accomodation in Meningie, situated at the northern end of the Coorong on the shores of the Lake Albert, Meningie combines all the charm of a small country town with stunning natural beauty of the Coorong and freshwater Lower Lakes Albert and Alexandrina of the Murray River. We will go for a drive to explore the beautiful Coorong National Park, one of South Australia's most spectacular national parks. Windswept beaches pounded by the Southern Ocean, secluded lagoons and stunning sand dunes stretching more than 100km characterise the unforgettable scenery of these wetlands and coastal dune systems of international significance.

On Sunday you will be part of an inspiring adventure, we will drive to Goolwa to board on a full day Coorong experience, our cruise will head downstream from the port of Goolwa along the historic wharf & towards the Goolwa Barrage. Travel through the lock chamber, down to sea level and spot a few lazy fur-seals lounging about. We then meander along the waterways of the Coorong, following the last kilometres of the mighty Murray River to the Murray Mouth and the its opening to the Southern Ocean.

We will go down onto the beach for a guided walk through the dunes, Indigenous Midden site, rich cultural interpretation and bush-tucker trail to the infamous 90-Mile Beach and the roaring Southern Ocean. Here a Ngarrindjeri Indigenous Guide will welcome you to the Coorong, share cultural interpretation & share a smoke ceremony with us.

Learn the 'Coorong Shuffle' and dig for Pipi's/Kuti on the beach before returning back to the vessel. Our skipper will cook a taster of 'Pipi's' to try before we continue our cruise past Storm Boy filming sites, towering dunes and enjoy a delicious lunch on-board as we pass by the other barrages and deep into the Coorong.

Our second stop will be a guided stroll onto spectacular sand dunes, with an expert Indigenous Guide to significant Ngarrindjeri cultural sites & learn how Ngarrindjeri people have lived and flourish in the Coorong for thousands of years. We will enjoy a well deserved afternoon tea on return to the vessel and quietly meander back along the stunning Coorong back to our home port of Goolwa.

Beautiful scenery, bird-life, seals and expert commentary along the way - this 6 hour cruise is the ultimate way to see the remote and wondrous wetlands of the Coorong.

We will finish our inspiring weeked stopping on our way back on an amazing restaurant to have a delicious dinner together.
